Beaker, with spout, manufactured with uniform wall thickness, offers optimum balance between thermal shock resistance and mechanical strength. For convenience, the 250 through 4000 mL beakers have a double graduated metric scale to indicate approximate content. All sizes have an extra large marking spot. The 10 mL size is not graduated.

Autoclaving:

This product will withstand repeated standard autoclave cycles of 121°C at 15 psi for 15 minutes. Due to the thick
walls on this product, it is CRITICAL that the heating and cooling cycles bel slow and even.

Heating/Cooling:

This product should NOT be heated while being used in a vacuum or pressure application as the combination of
thermal and mechanical stresses could cause a failure.

Vacuum/Pressure:

This product is designed for full vacuum of 760 mm Mercury (15 psi negative pressure).

This product is not designed for and is not rated for pressure applications.

Calibrated “To Contain.” A less costly cylinder, designed for those institutions performing many general laboratory procedures. No bumper guards supplied.

PYREX® flat bottom boiling flasks have long necks with tooled mouths and take a No. 2 rubber stopper. They are manufactured from No. 7740 borosilicate glass. Wall thicknesses are carefully controlled to provide the proper balance between thermal expansion and mechanical strength for greater shock resistance. Their excellent chemical durability results in contamination-free results and long life under the toughest lab conditions. The normal working temperature for PYREX® boiling flasks is 230°C.
