Corning – Sera – Other and Custom Media and Serum

Sera Processing Using industry leading techniques, blood is aseptically collected at abattoirs, centrifuged to isolate the serum and immediately frozen for testing and further processing. The raw sera is then true pooled and is 0.2 micron sterile filtered with a Sterility Assurance Level (SAL) of 10-3. Every lot then must pass USP <71> sterility testing. Additional testing includes endotoxin, hemoglobin, pH, osmolality, total protein and a biochemical profile that contains various metals, proteins, hormones and other metabolites.

Rabbit serum is a blood component that has had the red blood cells and clotting factors removed. It is primarily used in immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, ELISA assays, or other antibody-based applications as a blocking agent, or a diluent.

Sheep serum is a blood component that has had the red blood cells and clotting factors removed. It is primarily used in immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, ELISA assays or other antibody-based applications as a blocking agent, or a diluent.

Technical Advantage:  Can be autoclaved, unlike ampicillin Carbenicillin is a form of penicillin and is often used in place of ampicillin because it maintains stability after being autoclaved.  Like ampicillin, carbenicillin interferes with cell-wall synthesis of actively growing cells.

Complete Certificate of Analysis available for each production lot, along with full formulation information Manufactured in a facility that is FDA registered. This product is produced under high quality industry standards.

Trypsin is used to enzymatically release adherent cells from tissue culture plates for passaging.  Divalent cations such as calcium and magnesium, which are often present in the cell culture environment, inhibit this action.  EDTA sequesters these ions and thus enhances the efficacy of trypsin.
